O Gamera, whatever happened to you?
You’re a giant Japanese flying turtle, it’s true,
But when Gyaos, the dragon-bird, swooped down
You were stuck with your feet on the ground.
Were you neglected as an egg on the beach?
When you squawked was your mom out of reach?
Did your father swim off when you were a terrapin?
Have you always had difficulty sharin’?
Break through the pain, Gamera, break with the past
And your rocket-launched shell will fly so fast.
I wish I had a mythical amphibian to fix my crises
But I don’t believe in myths, and I’m not Japanese.
